Step 5 – Establish Directives / Secure Commitment

In order for a person to put off sinful patterns of thought and behavior, and to put on righteous patterns of the same, clear, concrete, realistic, and practical directives need to be provided by the counselor. Along with the establishment of such directives, counselees need to make a commitment to abide by the directives given.
